   The International Communications College of Communication University of China (CUC) has celebrated its 5th anniversary in the golden fall of October 2004.
   Five years ago, The International Communications College was born at the times¨ call. It was the need of the era and a sign of social progress.The International Communications College was founded on October 16, 1999, formerly known as the Department of Foreign Languages , which was one of the three initial departments in BBI. Over the years, The Department of Foreign Languages has successively run undergraduate programs in 23 foreign languages, including English, Persian, Turkish, Italian, Swahili, Urdu, Pashto, Tamil, etc., seven of which were first offered in the nation¨s history of higher education.
Under the auspices of the Central Propaganda Department of CPC, General Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and Ministry of Education, The Department of Foreign Languages launched a new undergraduate program in International Journalism in 1982, a corresponding MA program in 1986, and a PhD program in 1999. The Department of Foreign Languages has laid solid foundations in faculty, textbook and equipment, etc. for further expansion and growth.                    
                      








The college has trained talents of international communication in more than 34 languages.

It is one of the national training centers for "minor languages" talents with bachelor's degree.

The college took the lead in establishing international journalism program in China in 1982.

The college has trained a large number of outstanding talents for national-level media institutions and for Chinese-language media all over the world.
